Works must be created by girls aged 18 and under as of the time of submission.
Accepted written works include poetry, essays, personal narratives, short stories, short nonfiction, etc. of less than 1200 words, related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and how we, as girls, relate to and understand the natural world through science. Written Submissions must be submitted as a PDF.
You may submit up to five items in total for consideration.
Accepted visual works include pictures of physical or digital art, photographs, or other visual works related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and how we, as girls, relate to and understand the natural world through science. Submissions are limited to files of (FILE SIZE) or smaller, so submitting a lower resolution image may be required. If your work is selected for the long list, we will contact you for a higher resolution photo. This is not a guarantee that your work will be selected.
The Double Helix exists to promote the work and creativity of girls in STEM. For this reason, no works created using generative AI will be accepted to the anthology.
The primary language of this anthology is English, and as such, all submissions must be either originally created in English, or accompanied by English translations.
